Develop a clear set of outcomes for each meeting
by asking:
“What it is the meeting trying to accomplish?”
e.g. “Reach an agreed decision on X” or
“Agree an action plan for Y”.
Define what each outcome looks like.
Check these outcomes with the participants
at the start of the meeting.
Check the outcomes have been achieved
at the end.
Make a habit of reflecting on the things that are going well with your team. Credit those concerned and mention the behaviours that have helped.
Build on success. What can you learn? How can you repeat this elsewhere? Can you use an element of what is working to help address a problem area?
At the end of a meeting carry out an
After-Action-Review. Ask everyone:
“What went well in this meeting?”
“What could we improve?”
Record and assign actions to embed good practise for next time.
